HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FORMER PITTSBURGH PENGUINS GOALIE
PATRICK LALIME!!
(he turns 38 this date)

Patrick Lalime was picked in the sixth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins (156th overall).  Although he had been called-up and served as the back-up goalie for several games after being drafted, Lalime didn’t make his NHL debut until his third season on November 16, 1996 replacing Ken Wregget mid-way through a game against the New York Rangers.

He played for a total of five teams over his 18-season career including the Penguins.  The others include the Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Buffalo Sabres.

Lalime retired back in 2011 and joined the RDS network to cover the Ottawa Senators.
