After leaving Boston last night for an overnight flight, Tyler Seguin has touched down in his temporary new digs of Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. He was introduced to Swiss media at EHC Biel’s rink and met with the team’s Swiss head coach, Kevin Schlapfer, to “get to know each other and already discuss any sporting matters,” according to a translation of a German-language release about his arrival.

Seguin showed off a view of Biel/Bienne on his Twitter:

Then, he took in a game at EHC Biel’s arena and took note of the difference in ice size between NHL and international rinks (NHL rinks are 200 feet by 85 feet, while international rinks are 197 feet by 98.4 feet):

Though he arrived on an EHC Biel game day, it would be too much to ask of someone who just endured a transatlantic overnight flight to suit up and play at his best fresh off the plane. So, he will start training in his first practice tomorrow and most likely play his first game as part of EHC Biel on Sept. 29 against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

EHC Biel didn’t get off to the best start this season, dropping their first game 4-1 and their second game 2-1, but then they beat SC Bern 3-2 in a shootout.
