Former Florida Panthers CEO Stu Siegel who is currently the owner/CEO of Siegel Enterprises, Inc recently announced the purchase of International Scouting Services (ISS). ISS is the leading independent scouting agency for prospects aged 14-19 and has many clients which include NHL, OHL, QMJHL, WHL, NCAA, TSN, Hockeys Future etc.

The ISS’ annual draft guide is used widely by NHL scouts, media and fans for information on prospects at each years NHL draft along with it’s other products which are used through the hockey world.

“ISS Hockey has an incredible reputation in the hockey industry”, says Siegel. “Every young hockey player with the desire to advance in the sport aspires to be scouted and ranked by ISS Hockey. We hope to expand our coverage and the information that we compile on these prospects to continually enhance our industry leading products on behalf of our customers.”

Through his life and especially after becoming involved with the Panthers, Seigel had grown to respect the development of players and always had interest in how teams tracked prospect development. When I asked Stu how he became involved with ISS leading up to his purchase, here’s what he had to say: “When I met the people at ISS Hockey, I thought that it would be a great company to get involved with. The company truly has a “Tiffany” brand in hockey, but hasn’t yet created the full business model to achieve all that they could. I was originally going to just make an investment in the company, but then I got so excited about the opportunity that I ended up buying the whole thing.”

From the sound of things ISS will be growing and becoming much more than it already has in the past, good things for the business and monitoring prospect development are in the works.
