1927: The Bruins notch their first shutout win of the season when they beat the Maple Leafs 1-0.
1928: A trip to Detroit ends badly for the Bruins as they’re shut out 2-0 by the Red Wings.
1932: The Bruins beat the Chicago Black Hawks 5-1.
1936: In Chicago, the Bruins win 2-1 over the Black Hawks in the first half of a home-and-home.
1938: The Rangers come into town and the Bruins win 4-2.
1942: The Bruins defeat the Maple Leafs 7-6.
1953: Montreal and Boston tie at two apiece.
1956: The Bruins lose 4-3 to New York.
1958: Boston beats Detroit 2-1.
1959: The Bruins lose 2-1 to the Maple Leafs.
1962: The second half of a home-and-home with New York ends badly as the Bruins lose 7-1. They still have just one decisive win to their names for this season so far.
1964: The Bruins take their second 3-1 loss in a row, this time to Toronto.
1967: Visiting the then-new Pittsburgh Penguins for the very first time, the Bruins lose 4-1.
1970: The Penguins come in to Boston and the Bruins win 4-2.
1973: A 4-2 win over Philadelphia brings Boston’s win streak up to seven.
1979: Finishing off a home-and-home with the Quebec Nordiques, the Bruins win 7-4 and take the series.
1980: In Washington, the Bruins and Capitals tie at two.
1981: The Bruins put up just one goal and lose 6-1 to the Nordiques.
1983: Visiting Montreal doesn’t go well for the Bruins as they lose 4-2.
1986: In a game against the Blues, the Bruins win 6-5.
1987: The Bruins shut the Red Wings out 1-0, extending their win streak to seven.
1991: The Bruins lose 6-3 to the Capitals.
1997: In their second shutout loss in a row, the Bruins lose 2-0 to the Dallas Stars.
1999: The Bruins visit North Carolina and win 2-1 over the Hurricanes.
2000: Visiting Detroit to finish off a two-game roadie, the Bruins win 5-4.
2003: In Philadelphia, the Bruins lose 3-2.
2006: Stanislav Chistov has his first goal of the season, Marco Sturm and Zdeno Chara score, plus Sturm has the only shootout goal needed for a 4-3 Boston win against the Penguins. On the other side of the ice, a guy named Mark Recchi has two goals for Pittsburgh.
2008: In Montreal, the Bruins beat the Habs 3-2 in a shootout. Boston goals come from Milan Lucic and Matt Hunwick, plus Blake Wheeler‘s shootout-opening goal is the only thing the Bruins need to secure the win.
2010: The Lightning down the Bruins 3-1. Michael Ryder has the only goal for Boston.
