Ed Mulholland-US PRESSWIRE

The Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals) take on the Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) tonight at Giant Center, looking to rebound following their 3-1 loss to the Adirondack Phantoms last night.

Last night, Zach Hamill registered the only goal for the Bears in their loss at Adirondack. Bears’ goalie Dany Sabourin played well in net for Hershey, recording 27 saves on 29 shots. Tye McGinn netted his fifth goal of the season for the Phantoms following Hershey’s opening tally, on a play setup by the Philadelphia FlyersBrayden Schenn. Adirondack forward, Tyler Brown gave the Phantoms a 2-1 lead in the second period and Sean Couturier added an empty net goal in the third period. Phantoms goalie, Scott Munroe stopped 23 of the 24 Hershey shots on goal.

The Marlies fell to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins last night, with two late Penguins goals proving to be the difference. Simon Despres and Riley Holzapfel tallied third period goals for Wilkes-Barre Scranton and Jeff Zatkoff recorded 31 saves in the Penguins’ net. Toronto goalie, Ben Scrivens registered 23 saves on 25 shots.

Former Bears and Capitals forward Keith Aucoin returns to Giant Center, playing for Toronto this time around.

Hershey signed forward, Evan Barlow to a professional try-out contract this morning. Barlow has played for Reading in the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League), following his trade from the San Francisco Bulls. While in Reading, Barlow recorded 10 points in just four games played.

Braden Holtby will likely get the start in goal for Hershey.
