AHL Preview: Hamilton Bulldogs Vs. Hershey Bears

The Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals) return home to Giant Center tonight, looking to pick up their third straight victory. The Bears host the Hamilton Bulldogs, minor league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Tonight marks the 27th regular season matchup between the two clubs, with Hershey holding a 13-10-3 all time advantage over Hamilton.

These two AHL teams last met at Giant Center, with Hamilton earning a 4-2 victory over the Bears. Kyle Wilson and Graham Mink both contributed a goal in Hershey’s loss to the Bulldogs. The Bears travel to Hamilton on February 15th, for a matchup at Copps Coliseum.

The Bears picked up their second win in as many days last night, defeating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 5-4. Kevin Marshall tallied the overtime goal to secure a win for the Chocolate and White. Bears goalie, Dany Sabourin played good enough to earn a victory in net for Hershey. Tomas Kundratek,Jon DiSalvatore, Mattias Sjogren and Mathieu Beaudoin also tallied goals for the Bears.

Last night, the Syracuse Crunch defeated the Hamilton 5-1. Aaron Palushaj scored the lone goal for Hamilton.

Hershey enters tonight’s game currently positioned at fourth place in the East Division, seven points behind the division leading Crunch. Bears defenseman, Patrick Wellar returned to the lineup last night, following his recall from the Reading Royals of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League).

Braden Holtby will likely start in goal for Hershey, following Dany Sabouin’s start in goal last night.
