Penguins’ Martin Straka was denied by Boston Bruins goalie Byron Dafoe on his penalty shot attempt.
Gilles Meloche stopped Hartford Whalers‘ Dave Tippett on a penalty shot attempt.
The Penguins traded Steve Durbano, Chuck Arnason and a first round choice in the 1976 Amateur Draft from the Kansas City Scouts in exchange for Ed Gilbert, Simon Nolet and a first round choice in the 1976 Amateur Draft.
