Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre in front of 19,567 in attendance by a score of 4-1; the three stars of the game were all Penguins players: (1) Sergei Gonchar, who scored two goals; (2) Marc-Andre Fleury, who stopped 42 of 43 shots he faced;  and (3) Sidney Crosby.

Penguins’ Martin Straka was denied by Boston Bruins goalie Byron Dafoe on his penalty shot attempt.

1988
Gilles Meloche stopped Hartford WhalersDave Tippett on a penalty shot attempt.

1976
The Penguins traded Steve Durbano, Chuck Arnason and a first round choice in the 1976 Amateur Draft from the Kansas City Scouts in exchange for Ed Gilbert, Simon Nolet and a first round choice in the 1976 Amateur Draft.
