Pittsburgh Penguins were defeated by the Washington Capitals in front of a crowd of 18,506 in attendance at the Verizon Center by a score of 1-0; Marc-Andre Fleury earned the #2 star of the game by stopping 20 of 21 shots faced (allowing only one goal towards the end of the first period).

2010
The Penguins lost on the road to the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center by a score of 4-3 in front of a crowd of 19,044; Sidney Crosby earned the #3 star of the game.

1995
The lockout ended after the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association (NHLPA) came to terms on a collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

1994
Kevin Stevens recorded his tenth hat trick against Boston Bruins goalie, John Blue.

1972
The Penguins traded Bob Woytowich to the Los Angeles Kings in exchanged for Al McDonough.
