NHL Pre-Game Notes: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators
This afternoon’s game between the Pittsburgh Penguins (2-2-0) and the Ottawa Senators (3-1-0) will be broadcast on ROOT Sports – Pittsburgh. Face off is set for 5:00 pm (est). The Senators announced on their official webpage on Wednesday that the game was sold out (more than 19,153 tickets sold) with only a limited number of tickets left for standing room only.
Tanner Glass was the only player not participating in today’s morning skate, so Dustin Jeffrey replaced him on the third line and the other combinations stayed the same:
FORWARDS: Chris Kunitz-Crosby-Pascal Dupuis, Tyler Kennedy-Evgeni Malkin-James Neal, Matt Cooke-Brandon Sutter-Jeffrey, Eric Tangradi-Joe Vitale-Craig Adams;
DEFENSEMEN: Brooks Orpik-Paul Martin, Matt Niskanen-Kris Letang, Deryk Engelland-Ben Lovejoy, Robert Bortuzzo-Simon Despres; and the projected starting goalie in net for the Penguins tonight is Marc-Andre Fleury.
OTTAWA INJURY / LINE INFO
Senators defenseman Jared Cowen is expected to miss the season due to hip surgey while defenseman Mike Lundin will be out of the lineup recovering from finger surgery. Forward Guillaume Latendresse missed Friday’s game with an undisclosed injury and it is uncertain as to whether or not he will return to the lineup this afternoon against the Penguins.
Craig Anderson is the projected starting net minder for the Senators this afternoon.
Not only is the game sold out for today, but the morning skate held earlier at the Sensplex was full of fans watching the Penguins practice.
