Columbus Blue Jackets Matt Calvert Reactivated

With injuries all across the board in the wide world of sports, one NHL player is fortunate to be removed from the injured list and will be reactivated. The Columbus Blue Jackets have brought back left wing Matt Calvert. Subsequently, this means that the Blue Jackets have reassigned center Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, who I am quite certain is every livebloggers worst nightmare.

Audy-Marchessault is being sent to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass. Calvert was scoreless in six games this season. On top of that, Calvert was also not present in Columbus’s last three games due to a lower body injury. However, Calvert is back in action with the Blue Jackets, maybe to give us another hat trick. Overall ,bringing back the young Calvert can’t do any harm for the Blue Jackets.

Audy-Marchessault made his professional NHL debut in 2011 with the New York Rangers’ AHL affiliate, the Connecticut Whale. He was brought on by the recommendation of Dean Stork, who is the coach of the ECHL Greenville Road Warriors. He made a strong impression in just his second game with the Whale when he scored the winning shoot out goal to defeat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Then in his first professional season, he tied for the Whale team lead with 64 points.

Now after the 2011-2012 seasons, Audy-Marchessault signed a three year entry level contract as a free agent. It’s kind of a shame that they put him back on the shelf, though. In his early career, he has demonstrated his prowess on the ice.
