Nashville Predators Win Third Straight, Roll Over St. Louis Blues
After a trying time early on this season, the Nashville Predators are rolling strong right now. On Tuesday night, they rolled right over the St. Louis Blues by a sum of 6-1. There was effort all around with goals spread across the lines, six different Preds lighting the lamp. There were certain circumstances that possibly favored a route by the Predators, but they still put in a great night of hockey.
Goaltender Brian Elliot of the Blues allowed four goals on only eleven shots. To be sure, there were defensive troubles for the Blues that led to some of those good chances, but Elliot wasn’t exactly a human vacuum back there either. On the other side of the ice, Pekka Rinne continues to play great hockey. He has led this streak by his team and continues to do so on this night, only allowing one goal on thirty one shots.
What I take away from this contest more than anything is that the Predators are really settling into a good rhythm of playing their game and it shows in their confidence and effort. The results aren’t bad either, of course. The upcoming rematch against the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings should be a good test for the team at home. I would expect more stellar hockey from this team. They are really hitting their stride right now and when everyone is healthy, look out NHL.
