NHL Pre-Game Notes: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New Jersey Devils
Tomorrow afternoon’s first game of a home-and-home series between the Pittsburgh Penguins (8-3-0) and the New Jersey Devils (6-1-3) will be televised locally on ROOT Sports – Pittsburgh and nationally on the NHL Network (US). Face off is set for 1:00 pm (est).
The Penguins will be looking to win their fifth straight game in a row and have been riding the momentum since their victory over the New York Rangers at the end of last month. This should prove to be an interesting game as the Devils have won their last three matchups and will be trying to make it a fourth.
It’s been reported that blueliner, Kris Letang, will miss his second consecutive game tomorrow. That will mean that defenseman Dylan Reese will make his second start since being recalled this past Wednesday.
The line combinations should remain as they were for the game this past Thursday:
FORWARDS: Chris Kunitz-Sidney Crosby-Pascal Dupuis, Zach Boychuk-Evgeni Malkin-James Neal, Matt Cooke-Brandon Sutter-Tyler Kennedy, Tanner Glass-Joe Vitale-Craig Adams;
DEFENSEMEN: Brooks Orpik-Paul Martin, Simon Despres-Reese, Robert Bortuzzo-Deryk Engelland; and the starting goalie in net for the Penguins tomorrow afternoon is Marc-Andre Fleury.
NEW JERSEY INJURY / LINE INFO
The Devils will be without forward, Dainius Zubrus, due to an upper body injury; Martin Brodeur is the projected starting net minder for the Devils tomorrow.
