Every season there are certain games a team has no business losing. Every season a team loses one of those games. Tonight could be one of those games for the NHL’s hottest team the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chicago has gotten off to one of the best starts of all time, but after playing 10 of their first 12 games on the road, they finally return to the United Center for the start of a seven game home stand.

Normally, playing at home is seen as an advantage, but coming off of such a long and challenging road trip, the Blackhawks could suffer a let down and let one slip. It happens all of the time, even to teams playing as well as Chicago is at the moment.

One thing the Blackhawks have going for them is the level of competition that is coming into town. The Anaheim Ducks have the second best record in the Western Conference and they will be looking to make a statement against the team that has been running away from the rest of the West.

This should be motivation enough to get the best out of Chicago as they will be wanting to make a statement of their own. They have a five point lead on the Ducks going into this game, and they will not want to give up any of that lead. Both teams also know that this game could have playoff implications and neither is going to want to give the other any sort of edge.
