Los Angeles Kings Suddenly Becoming Western Conference Threat

There are not many teams that are blazing hot right now in the National Hockey League. There is one team on the west coast though that is starting to make so much noise that people are starting to remember that they won the Stanley Cup last season. The Los Angeles Kings won their third straight game on Saturday night and that win sets up a matchup on Monday night against the Anaheim Ducks that is going to be a key point in this run for the Kings.

Los Angeles is back to 8-6-2 for this season and is going to face an Anaheim team that has only lost twice in regulation all year. The team is finally getting consistent contributions from Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter has nine goals now for the year. The Western Conference looks like it is going to be one that goes through the Chicago Blackhawks but if the Kings can keep winning, they will challenge Chicago for the conference title.

The game on Monday will be huge though because if Los Angeles can beat Anaheim to gain their fourth straight win, who knows when the run will stop especially with a host of home games coming up. This season has turned around over the last two weeks for the Kings and they are now flying high. I know I wouldn’t want to be the team who has to face this Kings team in the playoffs as they are looking right now because it could be a very quick exit playing them.
