The Washington Capitals are heading back home to make up for their pathetic weekend in front of fans at the Verizon Center. The Capitals just lost two straight and need to get things going in the right direction to lift their spirits and continue to make a second half run. The game will take place at 7:00 and will be broadcasted locally in surrounding areas.
As a team, Washington must stay focused on not taking bad penalties and work on just playing the game and handle the responsibilities on offense and defense. Braden Holtby will most likely start in net, but I think that he should be fine. He did struggle in Sunday’s game against the Rangers, but fatigue was a big part of it. I think Holtby will hold the glue between the pipes and give the Adam Oates’ Capitals a good chance to win in this big division rivalry.
Player to watch for the Carolina Hurricanes- Alexander Semin: The former Capital is going to want revenge in this game as it will be his first time at the Verizon Center since leaving. He has been quietly having a great season and I don’t expect that to change once Tuesday’s night comes.
Player to watch for the Washington Capitals- Joel Ward: Ward has been having a great season for Washington with 14 points, six of them being goals. Ward had an assist in the first game agains tth
