NHL Pre-Game Notes: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Tonight’s game between the Pittsburgh Penguins (19-8-0, 36 points) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (15-11-1, 31 points) will be televised locally on ROOT Sports – Pittsburgh and nationally on RDS. Face off is set for 7:00 pm (est) at the Air Canada Centre.

This is the third and final matchup of the regular-season meetings between the two clubs.  They are tied at one game a piece.

The projected line combinations based on this morning’s skate are as follows:

POWER PLAY UNIT(S): First unit consists of Kris Letang, Beau Bennett, James Neal, Chris Kunitz, Sidney Crosby; second unit was made up of Paul Martin, Matt Niskanen, Tyler Kennedy, Pascal Dupuis, Dustin Jeffrey;

FORWARDS: Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis, Bennett-Jeffrey-Neal, Matt CookeBrandon Sutter-Kennedy, Tanner GlassJoe VitaleCraig Adams;

DEFENSEMEN: Brooks Orpik-Martin, Simon Despres-Letang, Niskanen-Deryk Engelland, Mark EatonRobert Bortuzzo. The starting goalie in net for the Penguins tonight is Marc-Andre Fleury.

MAPLE LEAFS INJURY / LINE INFO
The only player the Maple Leafs will be without is forward Joffrey Lupul who has a forearm injury.  James Reimer is the projected starting net minder for Toronto tonight.
