Dallas Stars Could Use More From Loui Eriksson

The Dallas Stars have lost three straight games heading into play on Saturday night. Dallas has had a very balanced scoring attack this season, but is still just 12-11-3 on the year.

It has been one of the younger stars on the Dallas roster that has tried to keep the team in playoff contention. Loui Eriksson has 17 points this season, and is second on the team in that category. Eriksson has seven goals and ten assists for Dallas and with his track record, I wouldn’t be shocked if the left winger finishes this shortened NHL season with around 40 points.

Eriksson has scored over 70 points in each of the last three seasons and at age 27, he may be hitting the prime of his career right now. The Stars are going to need as much help as they can get if they want to get out of last place in the Pacific Division and possibly into a playoff spot.

Eriksson has scored four points in the team’s last five games, but I really think that he should step up and become more of a scoring option for the Stars. I believe the 27-year old can get above a point per game before this season comes to an end, especially with so much parity around the NHL this year.

He is obviously one of the best players in the whole NHL with his recent play but he’ll need to score more for the Dallas to make some noise in 2013.
