Pittsburgh PenguinsEvgeni Malkin recorded his 200th NHL career goal against the Winnipeg Jets; and

James Neal scored his first hat trick in a Penguins uniform.

Carolina Hurricanes Jamie McBain scored the latest overtime goal ever scored against the Penguins (since Philadelphia FlyersScott Harnell on March 18 2012) with .9 seconds left in overtime; the Hurricanes defeated the Penguins by a score of 3-2.

New York IslandersTim Connolly scored a penalty shot on Penguins goalie, J.S. Aubin.

Ron Francis earned his 1,000th NHL assist against the Flyers becoming the seventh player in league history to do so; and

Pittsburgh became the 10th team to reach the 1000 win mark.

Patrick Lalime recorded his 20th win of the season making him the first Penguins rookie goalie to do so since Les Binkley in the 1967-68 season.

The Penguins traded a sixth-round draft pick in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for J.J. Daigneault; and

traded Markus Naslund to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Alek Stojanov.
