Ottawa Senators Boston Bruins

Once again, the Ottawa Senators were bit by the injury bug, and it doesn’t help that they are playing the Boston Bruins tonight. Boston has won both meetings between them, and even though Boston collapsed their last game, you can’t count them out.

Marc Methot was injured in the Senators’ last game, and he left practice today. Right now it is is unlikely he will play which isn’t a good thing as Ottawa can move within one point of Boston with a win this evening at Scotiabank Place. On the away side, David Krejci, the one who finished Ottawa in the shootout, joined teammates for a morning skate and will be a game-time decision.

Ottawa has been amazing this season at home, and look for them to continue it tonight. With recent news of Milan Michalek going under the knife, Ottawa just looks at it as another hurdle for them to overcome. Sergei Gonchar has stepped up and is taking his game to a whole other level.

Tuukka Rask can be a factor if Boston wants to steal one in Ottawa. Rask has been spectacular this season, being third in the league in Goals Against Average and Save Percentage respectively. Now the number one starter ever since Tim Thomas took a year off and was traded, Rask has exceeded any expectations set for him, as he has been a tremendous player throughout this season.

Ottawa is looking to win their fourth straight, and Boston will be trying to bounce back from their loss against the Winnipeg Jets. You can listen to this game on the Team 1200 Radio, and watch it on Sportsnet. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
