How Will Cory Conacher Affect Ottawa Senators?
After the breaking news that Burlington Ontario native Cory Conacher was traded to the Ottawa Senators, everyone who loves the Senators got a little more excited about their next game. The 23-year-old is in his first NHL season, and he is not disappointing.
He has spent the last couple years with two AHL teams and put up some solid points playing for and representing Canisius College. Conacher now joins the Senators lineup, and his offensive boost is just what Ottawa needs right now. Conacher currently has 24 points, which now makes him the official leading scorer of the Senators—not too shabby, especially since he hasn’t even played a game for them yet.
What a day! Got the jitters out, first practice with the new team, can’t be any happier. Buffalo tomorrow night #gameface

It seems Conacher is happy to join Ottawa, and why wouldn’t he be? Currently Ottawa is on pace for a solid playoff position, and with his offensive presence he can make this team even more deadly. Trading former Senator Ben Bishop was a great move for the Senators. They can now look ahead with newly acquired Conacher and go in full flight with two solid goalies-Craig Anderson and Robin Lehner.
Even though Conacher isn’t the tallest, his on ice presence matches him with 6-foot players. His determination and grittiness, alongside his talent makes him a solid forward. When Conacher joins the Senators for their first game, all eyes will be on him, but if he continues to play like he has, Cory has nothing to worry about.
