As far as lists go, there has always been a predisposition to a particular gender. Even Sports Illustrated, the bible of professional sports, is guilty of it.

Every February, the swimsuit issue graces newsstands much to the delight of males everywhere. Yet, what does looking good in bathing apparel have to do with pro sports anyway? Not that it matters exactly, but it’s worth asking nevertheless especially since the magazine has never released a male version.

Anyway, cheerleaders have best looking lists, women athletes and yes, even WAGs. What is a Wag? I’m glad you asked. That is short for wives and girlfriends of professional athletes. Being married to or dating one is an accomplishment in itself, apparently, even better if you are hot. Lord help you if you’re not.

Well, it is high time, ladies, that we got some lists of our own! So, let’s salute the trophy husbands and boyfriends of the National Hockey League.

Hockey players have long gotten a bad reputation for being toothless Neanderthals. While it is true that hockey is a tough sport, many of these athletes can share magazine covers with the best of them. It's what female fans have known all along. Stoll doesn’t just get in the papers for his sizzling plays on the ice either as his love life attests.

Number four honors go to Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators. Fisher is a hard-hitting forward with cover-boy good looks. This hottie caught the attention of country music star Carrie Underwood. The pair met at one of her concerts and married two years later.

No. 3 Zach Parise

Zach Parise, of the Minnesota Wild, skates into the number three spot. Just ask the pre-teen to 20 set in the Garden State and they will tell you this Mid-West charmer is Jerseylicious! Many hearts were broken along the Jersey Shore for two reasons this summer. Parise married his longtime girlfriend Alisha Woods and left the Devils for the comforts of home in Minnesota. Sorry girls, maybe you can trade in those Parise jerseys for Wild ones.

Maybe it’s the Bono hair, but Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins slides in at number two. Letang’s smoldering dark eyes, long locks and the on-again-off-again beard along with his tough play on the ice make him the ultimate bad boy any girl would want to tame.

No. 1 Henrik Lundqvist

Number one honors belong to Swedish heartthrob Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers. It may be hard to tell behind the goalie mask, but this Broadway Blueshirt is one delicious looking man! He wasn’t named one of People’s 100 Most Beautiful People for nothing. And boy does he clean up well! Lundqvist is also one of Manhattan’s best dressed.
