The Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals, 7-1, to force a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The game marked the second in time in team history the Penguins faced three goaltenders in one game (Jim Carey, Olaf Kolzig and Byron Dafoe). The first time the Penguins faced three goalies was December 5, 1991.

1967
Pittsburgh caught a glimpse of the hockey future when Karen Antkiewicz, the United Fund’s Miss Torch, modeled the Penguins’ sweater for the first time.
