What do you do if you are the winningest goaltender in the history of the NHL, have three Stanley Cup rings, numerous other accolades and have already been to Disney Land? Well, of course you would want to be the next cover boy for NHL 14!

As if he doesn’t have enough trophies and records to his credit, Martin Brodeur, the future Hall of Fame goalie for the New Jersey Devils, may just earn the honor of being on the cover of EA Sports NHL 14. The popular video game company is sponsoring a contest in order for fans to determine who will be next year’s cover boy.

Voting started back on May 6 with a round of sixteen. Brodeur is now matched up in the semifinals against Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings. The other face off is between John Tavares of the New York Islanders and Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

If you have a stake in who is on the cover of the game which is played on the popular Play Station and XBox systems, then you can and visit NHL.com to cast your vote. Voting is unlimited and will run from May 20 through May 26 for the semis. The final vote will run from May 27 to June 2.

Claude Giroux graced the cover of NHL 2013 and scoring machine Steven Stamkos had the honors for the 2012 edition.

In case you were wondering, only one Devil has ever been on the cover and that was when Scott Stevens shared the billing with Red Wings’ great Steve Yzerman.

If Brodeur goes on to win, he will not be the first goaltender to be showcased. John Vanbiesbrouck wore it well for NHL 97 as a Florida Panther and Glenn Healy of the Los Angeles Kings was the original cover boy way, way back in 1991.
