Vancouver Canucks Should Avoid John Tortorella

John Tortorella

The Vancouver Canucks are still looking for a new head coach. The name that has come to light in recent days has been John Tortorella, but why on earth do the Canucks want Tortorella anywhere near the team? It would be the worst idea that Vancouver could come up with.

It is very obvious that Tortorella is loud and basically abusive to the media. I wouldn’t want to hire this guy to my kid’s birthday party, let alone be a coach of a professional team. The development of the Canucks would certainly be hampered if Tortorella were to arrive. The fans deserve better and the players don’t deserve to get yelled at every single day. The team may never see the Stanley Cup with Tortorella in charge.

He interviewed for the job this week and while there are other candidates out there who are much better fits, I feel pretty certain that the team will go with Tortorella. It is their own grave that they are digging, and they will regret it sooner than later.

You can see the record of success that Tortorella has, and it isn’t one of a coach that has won multiple titles. I really hope that smarter heads prevail on this one. The Sedins are on their last years and deserve to have a coach in charge that can actually lead them to the Stanley Cup instead of away from it.
