The Dallas Stars are clearly on a rebuilding process this season, as they have changed their general manager, their head coach, and parted ways with several players like Loui Eriksson in an effort to go younger while also looking towards the future.

Despite the fact that the move is going to see the team struggling for the first year of the process, some things are beginning to show results already, both on and off the ice. None has been bigger than the chemistry that Jamie Benn and Alex Chiasson seem to be developing after each game. Benn became the face of the franchise going forward and he’s the captain on the ice, while Chiasson has been a pleasant surprise since his arrival to the Stars down the stretch last season. The Canadian forward enjoyed a great run of success that allowed him to maintain his place towards this year, and it seems like he hasn’t lost a step this campaign.

Benn and Chiasson both scored twice against the Calgary Flames in a 5-1 victory a few days ago, and despite the fact that neither scored against the Winnipeg Jets yesterday, it’s clear that they are the offensive leaders of the team and that can only be beneficial for the team going forward.

The support of players like veteran Ray Whitney, rookie Alex Nichushkin and newcomer Tyler Seguin will be key for the Stars’ success in the next years, but as long as Benn and Chiasson can continue the strong play together, the Dallas Stars will continue down the right path of the rebuilding process.
