Boring Games Are Becoming Expected For Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins have done it again. They came out flat and they rode Tuukka Rask to another victory.

For whatever reason, scoring goals just isn’t on their to do list. Sure, 3-1 on the scoreboard looks good, but the third goal was an empty-netter. Scoring three goals against the Florida Panthers isn’t really an achievement. In fact, it’s not even a consolation prize. The Bruins should be blowing teams like this out of the water, and they are not. Not to mention, the Bruins kept it a close game until the third period.

When Brad Marchand scored the blue-collar goal the other night, I thought maybe it would get him rolling. When Jarome Iginla scored a few games ago, I thought the same thing. Neither has followed up since.

That said, both guys are playing decently and the Bruins are winning. At the end of the day, fans want them to win the Stanley cup. The Bruins have been playing a defensive style of hockey since Claude Julien got there, but it been boring. As far as excitement goes, it looks as if the Bruins are just going through the motions.

Not only is it boring — it’s embarrassing. They could light the league on fire if they wanted and they choose not to. Why? I don’t know. If they switched it up just a notch, this team would be even scarier then they already are.
