Dallas Stars Are Opening Eyes with Recent Performances
The Dallas Stars are on a hot streak and they’re opening some eyes around the league.
It’s safe to say the Stars are riding their best moment of the season thanks to some solid displays both at home and on the road. With solid performers all over the ice, they’re showing they can contend for a playoff spot up until the final weeks of the regular season.
Through their last seven games, the Stars have won six and only lost one against the Chicago Blackhawks, the current Stanley Cup champions and one of the better teams in the NHL. Through that span, Dallas has outscored their opponents 25-17 and much of that can be credited to the duo of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin.
The two youngsters are considered to be building blocks of the franchise going forward and while Benn has been producing for a while, Tyler Seguin is a re-born player for the Stars. He struggled last year with the Boston Bruins, but it seems like he could live up to his potential in Dallas.
The goaltending of Kari Lehtonen has also been top notch and he’s one of the reasons why the Stars seem to be getting better after each contest. The Finnish netminder is one of the most underrated goalies in the NHL and he’s a trustworthy option between the pipes that is clearly better at attacking than defending.
The Stars are by no means a perfect team, but it’s clear they’ve taken a few steps forward in recent weeks. If they can keep up with this level of play, there’s nothing that suggests that they can’t return to the playoffs this season.
