Rick Nash’s Return Will Boost New York Rangers’ Offense
The wait is finally over for the New York Rangers. Rick Nash will be returning to the ice for the first time since suffering a concussion on October 8. Nash has missed 17 games since then and did not register a goal in any of the three games he played in.
Alain Vigneault was shuffling lines during practice so it is unclear who Nash will be playing with Tuesday night. It will take a few games for Nash to get back into game condition. He has been working on conditioning over his last few practices, but being in game shape is a completely different animal. The Rangers are taking on a real physical team in the Boston Bruins so Nash is going to take some bumps in his first game back. This will be a good game for Nash to get back into the swing of things.
The Rangers have struggled offensively over the last few games, scoring just three goals in their last three games. Before that it looked like the Rangers were beginning to turn a corner and were finding their offensive game, but now they are struggling and shuffling lines. This is a perfect time for Nash to return. We all know what he brings to the table offensively. His stat line won’t be great at the end of the season, but he can get really hot and will have to for the struggling Rangers.
Nash’s finally makes the Rangers roster complete. They have back all of their pieces, and it is now time to see how good this team can be when all the pieces fall into place.
