The Philadelphia Flyers won their third-straight game and are now 6-0-1 in their last seven contests. This team is heating up at the right time. This is the same team that looked lifeless early on in the season.

They got off to their worst start in franchise history at 1-7 and it cost the previous coach, Peter Laviolette his job. This and a new demanding voice, in new head coach Craig Berube, has seemed to light a fire under the club.

The offense is finally coming to life. Young guys like Matt Read and Brayden Schenn are starting to really step up offensively as each has seven goals, and Vinny Lecavalier is showing his worth with his play making prowess and goal scoring ability as he leads the club with eight goals.

The biggest thing this club needed was for captain Claude Giroux to get going. It looks like he finally has. He finally snapped his goalless streak last week, and he is making plays for others as his 11 assists lead the team.

One thing the Flyers have had all season long? Goal tending. The tandem of Steve Mason and Ray Emery continues to be solid. Mason in particular has been a god send. He is stopping pucks at an outstanding clip, and is in the top 10 in the league in save percentage. It looks like the Flyers finally have a solid young goal tender to build around.

It has been an incredible turnaround for this bunch. The Flyers are finally back at .500. Hopefully, they can take flight from here and make some noise come playoff time.
