Dallas Stars Need to Take Advantage of Opportunities to Top Chicago Blackhawks
The team coached by Lindy Ruff was finally able to win in front of their fans, and they did it in style against one of the better teams in the NHL. But the challenge will be tougher as they will host the current Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
The Hawks are one of the better teams in the league, and they have been especially efficient on the road where they boast a 9-3-1 record. They are tied for the league lead in road victories, and if that’s not enough they have one of the hottest players right now in Patrick Kane.
The Hawks forward scored twice as Chicago defeated the Calgary Flames this past Wednesday, and he’s currently riding a 12-game point streak. He is only one of the many star players the team has on their roster, and if the Stars want to take something out of tonight’s game they will need to be at their best on both ends of the ice.
Even though there were some unsung heroes in the win against the Ducks like Antoine Roussel and Cody Eakin, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin will need to be very efficient tonight. The Stars won’t have many chances to find the back of the net, and if they want to get a win their offensive players will need to produce as much as they can.
It is definitely a tough matchup as the Blackhawks have won the last five games against the Stars, but if Dallas can defend solidly and be efficient going forward they could pull the upset at the American Airlines Center tonight.
