The Dallas Stars keep giving fans glimpses of greatness this season. Take Saturday afternoon for instance when the Stars took care of the Winnipeg Jets 6-4. It’s games like that when the fans get all excited. It’s like being a kid on Christmas morning as you wait to open the gifts under the tree.
However, the Stars then follow up the performance from Saturday with an awful showing in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs, behind four second-period goals, beat the Stars 6-2 in the first game of a home-and-home series between the two teams.
Despite the roller coaster season the Stars are on, there has been one really bright spot in Dallas. 21-year-old Tyler Seguin continues to dazzle each and every night. After his four-point performance on Saturday afternoon, Tyler went out and added two more points on Monday. Seguin had a goal and an assist despite the loss. Saturday marked the fourth time this season that Seguin has four points in a game. The next closest person in the NHL only has two games like that.
Seguin has been paired with captain Jamie Benn and the two have been a perfect pair from the very beginning. Benn has 28 points this season and Seguin has 33. Seguin is sixth in the NHL with 18 goals and has a plus-nine as well. The Stars currently sit tenth in the Western Conference with 35 points. One things for certain though, blame cannot be placed on Seguin for the Stars current position in the standings.
