Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens Battle In Stanley Cup Tease
Let’s face it: the NHL‘s regular season is a lot like the NBA‘s regular season. Not only do these winter games tend to bore some fans to death, they oftentimes don’t tell the whole story. Like most leagues, the NHL makes its money in the postseason, where the drama has been second to none over the years. With that being said, the Chicago Blackhawks travel north this weekend where they will square off against the Montreal Canadiens for the first time since December 21st of 2011!
Two of the most powerful original six teams are locking horns and this matchup just screams game of the week. Chicago ranks second in all of the NHL in scoring with 3.63 goals per game, while the Canadiens are currently fourth in the NHL in goals allowed by surrendering a mere 2.29 pucks per game. Carey Price has proven to be a top goalie in this league as he’s been a staple of consistency for the Habs since he led the NHL in wins way back in 2010.
With that being said, Chicago is going to be ready for one of the NHL’s premier goaltenders. The Blackhawks’ last game came against the New York Rangers, in a contest that saw Henrik Lundqvist put on absolute clinic in front of the Windy City crowd. Needless to say, this original six showdown is must-watch TV. And if the NHL is lucky, this won’t be the last time all year that we see the Blackhawks travel to Canada and take on the Canadiens.
