Philadelphia Flyers Aim To Finally Defeat Carolina Hurricanes
The Philadelphia Flyers fought hard in their game against the New York Islanders on Monday afternoon, but they ran out of steam in the shootout and took the overtime loss. Due to the loss, the team will be amped to return to their home ice for a chance of redemption as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
The Flyers will not only try to redeem themselves for their performance on Monday afternoon but also in terms of how they play against the Hurricanes. Tuesday night will be the third time that they play against the Hurricanes, and they’ll want to try to actually win this time. The first time they played each other it ended in a Flyers defeat, and the second game was not as kind for them as they lost again during overtime this time.
Despite their performances against the Hurricanes, the 25-19-16 Flyers have seen more success in the standings than the 20-19-9 Hurricanes. However, the Hurricanes have quietly been creeping up the Metropolitan standings. The Flyers are in a better situation, but they need to learn to play a full 60 minutes in order to keep their spot.
Wayne Simmonds was consistent in their last game and continues to be a key player that the Flyers need right now. Matt Read was also great in their last game, so the hope is that he will continue this into their next game.
