Philadelphia Flyers Hope To End Skid Against Boston Bruins

The month of December has not been kind to the Philadelphia Flyers. They have struggled with key issues on the ice, and this week has been a rough one to be a Flyers fan as they dropped all three of their games. On Saturday afternoon the team will have to try a lot harder to end their skid when they face off against the Boston Bruins for the first time this season.

It’s odd to think that this is the first time these two teams will play against each other since in previous season they were constant rivals. With the new re-alignment a few things have changed, but one thing didn’t as the Bruins are still a hard team to beat.

The Bruins are backed by goalie Tuukka Rask, but he is currently in a bit of a slump so the Flyers may be able to catch him off guard on Saturday. However, their offense is just as good with forward Brad Marchand and defenseman Patrice Bergeron leading the team. The Bruins are leading the Atlantic Division right now, so the third placed Metropolitan Division Flyers have a lot of work to do on Saturday.

The Flyers will need to find offensive strength from Brayden Schenn, whom has a career-high of 14 goals, and from Wayne Simmonds whom has been hot these past couple of weeks. In their last game their biggest issue was turnovers, and they simply were not in their opponent’s zone enough to score a goal. On Saturday they’ll need to correct this and hammer at Rask’s net.
