The lines and depth chart were a complete boondoggle this season.

Once a line worked, it got broken up. Obvious powerhouse lines were ignored, and nobody seemed to gel as a unit.

Carolina allows opponents to operate in the defensive zone with relative impunity. When they do defend, they use horrible strategies -- like putting three defenders in the corner at even strength.

When there's no clear starting goalie, or when the stock is put in an inconsistent goaltender, or when you carry three for no reason -- goaltending will suffer.

Carolina never made up their mind as to who was between the pipes, and the team suffered.
