There's no questioning the excitement and thrills that Philadelphia Flyers fans got to witness this past season. The goals, fights and saves that accompanied the year are ones that will be hard to forget. Which five moments were the best?
It was Game 4 and the Flyers desperately needed to avoid going down 3-1 in the series. New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh had a golden opportunity to revamp the Rangers' energy, but Steve Mason's stick had other plans.
The Flyers were getting destroyed by a score of 7-0, but for the fans who actually stayed for the third period, they got their money's worth. Madness broke loose with fights breaking out from each end of the ice. Even the goalies got in on some of the action.
The clock was ticking down during a late December game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Giroux was able to find the puck, took the shot and elevated the puck right over Curtis McElhinney's shoulder.
Staring at the face of elimination, the Flyers came alive on their home ice. They torched the Rangers by a score of 5-2. It was a game that included a rare hat trick from Wayne Simmonds.
The Flyers' schedule was counting down the final few weeks and the odds were completely stacked against them. They had been beating some of the NHL's best in exciting fashion. On Mar. 18, the captain added to that excitement.
