The Chicago Blackhawks will be right up against the salary cap for a number of years to come, but the team's strong pool of prospects will make that a much less difficult process than it otherwise would be. Here are the organization's top five prospects to watch during the 2014-15 season.

Antti Raanta had a strong stretch last season when Corey Crawford went down with an injury, but later on he struggled badly when not getting regular playing time. Raanta could be the future in net for the Blackhawks if he can show a little more next season.

4. Klas Dahlbeck

Klas Dahlbeck is perhaps the best pure defensive defenseman in Chicago's system, and he could be called upon to play some shutdown minutes with the big club next season; it's quite possible he'll make the Blackhawks out of camp outright.

3. Stephen Johns

Chicago's group of defensemen could use a bit of extra physicality thrown in there beyond just what Brent Seabrook brings, and Stephen Johns is the perfect candidate. A solid own-zone player who loves to throw his weight around, Johns will compete with Dahlbeck and several others to make the team as a depth defenseman next season.

2. Jeremy Morin

Jeremy Morin was brilliant in limited action for Chicago in 2013-14, and he'll almost surely be on the active roster in 2014-15 barring a terrible training camp or preseason. Morin should provide plenty of offense from a bottom-six position, something the Blackhawks were missing during the playoffs last year.

Having signed Brad Richards with the express purpose of holding down the second-line center role while Teuvo Teravainen develops, it's not tremendously likely that Chicago's best prospect will make the team out of camp. Still, Teravainen is the most dynamic player in the Blackhawks' system that isn't already on the roster, and he should still get plenty of chances to prove himself next season. He might simply be too good to keep in Rockford.
