Bringing an NHL team to Las Vegas has always been talked about whether you like the idea or not. Now, with a recent stir of rumors claiming an NHL expansion is on the horizon, the fantasy of bringing another team to the West is becoming more of a reality. But if Las Vegas did land an NHL team, what would we know them as?

Here are five possible names for an NHL team in Sin City.

Since Blackjack is one of the most popular games played in Las Vegas, it makes sense to incorporate it in the franchise's name. It even sounds good. Go ahead, say it out loud.

Sidewinders are a prominent species in and around the Las Vegas area. Snakes are also one of the coolest creatures on the planet, so you can't go wrong with this name.

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of Las Vegas is gambling, and maybe a night of questionable decisions if you have ever vacationed there. The name may be simple, but it would fit the city all too well.

The Desert Bighorn Sheep is the official animal of Nevada. The Las Vegas Sheep sounds too namby-pamby, so I thought naming them the Las Vegas Bighorns would be a better alternative.

Nevada is the second-largest producer of silver in America. Nevada also inhabits a wide variety of rattlesnakes. Smash those two together and you have the perfect name for an NHL franchise in the City of Lights.
