As the NHL season inches closer, teams and fantasy owners wonder what players will be contributing the most to their respective team’s success. For the Los Angeles Kings, the more things change, the more they stay the same as the leader boards don’t seem to change year in and year out. Having said that, the Kings are a team that puts little value on statistics as their selflessness has helped them win two of the last three Stanley Cups.

The enforcer will be throwing down with the NHL’s toughest guys all year and bringing the Kings a high level of snarl and tenacity every night. His offseason recovery from wrist surgery is ahead of schedule, as he has been skating with his former junior team, the Barrie Colts. That's bad news for opposing players next season.

Despite having a down year offensively, Brown still brought it physically last season. Look for more of the same as Brown lowers the boom on the forecheck much to the chagrin of opposing players.

If Gaborik stays healthy 40 goals is not out of the question for the “Slovakian Sniper”. His chemistry with Anze Kopitar was a big reason why the Kings won the 2014 Stanley Cup, and the duo will look to carry that into the 2014-15 season.

If new linemate Marian Gaborik can stay healthy, 50 assists is not out of the question for the center. His craftiness and vision make him an almost unparalleled setup man, and his teammates surely appreciate being on the receiving end of his passes.

Kopitar has been a lock to lead the Kings in scoring since entering the league in 2006, and there’s no reason that should change this season. His ability to both facilitate and shoot the puck make him the best offensive player on the team.
