The Sharks will open 2015 with a key matchup against the St. Louis Blues at the SAP Center. The Sharks and Blues typically play competitive, hard-hitting matchups that are tightly contested. The Blues are just two points ahead of the Sharks in the Western Conference standings, and will be looking to avenge an earlier 3-2 overtime defeat when the Sharks tied the game with 20 seconds left in regulation.

This will be the final meeting of the regular season in a series that the Sharks have dominated this season. The Sharks are 3-0-1 against the first-place Ducks this season, and have outscored their Southern California rivals 15-8 thus far. This will be a key game for the Sharks, who trail the Ducks by nine points and will be looking to close the gap atop the Pacific Division.

Two nights later, the Sharks will take on the other top team in the Western Conference in the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks have had the Sharks' number in recent years, but the two usually play high-scoring affairs with plenty of speed. This will mark the Blackhawks' first trip to San Jose, and the Sharks will be looking to avenge a 5-2 defeat to Chicago earlier this season.

It’s the game that Sharks fans have circled on their calendars. The NHL Stadium Series will pit the Sharks against their nemesis, the Los Angeles Kings, at Levi’s Stadium. The teams have split the season series thus far with the Sharks winning on opening night 4-1 in Los Angeles and the Kings defeating the Sharks 3-1 on December 27. Needles to say, both of these rivals will look to claim an important victory in a unique setting in Santa Clara.

The Sharks will conclude their longest road trip of the second half with a battle against the Metropolitan Division-leading Pittsburgh Penguins. San Jose will be looking to close out their seven-game road trip on a high note against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and the dynamic duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, who have combined for 79 points thus far.
