The Winnipeg Jets are one of 2014-15's pleasant surprises, very much in the playoff hunt in the NHL's toughest division despite being an almost unanimous pick to finish in the bottom three of the Western Conference before the season began. Here are the top five Jets games to watch in 2015.

The San Jose Sharks are probably Winnipeg's most serious competition for a wildcard spot in the Western Conference. Come April, getting two points out of this early January game could mean a lot.

The Jets trail the St. Louis Blues by only two points. With the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks likely to grab the first and second seeds in the Central Division, Winnipeg and St. Louis appear as if they will battle for the third seed and the guaranteed playoff spot that comes with it. This late-season tilt may very well decide who wins that battle.

Winnipeg has played some of its best hockey against the Chicago Blackhawks, outscoring them by a combined 6-1 in two games this season. Heading into the playoffs, this March 29th matchup is an opportunity for yet another signature win for the Jets.

The Calgary Flames are Winnipeg's opponent in its final game of 2014-15. Barring a collapse during the second half of the season, this game will have significant playoff-related implications for the Jets. That could be true for the wildcard-chasing Flames as well.

Winnipeg has rapidly developed a fairly heated rivalry with the Minnesota Wild. The two teams, flying under the radar as usual, have played some of this season's most exciting games. This matchup will be the last of the year between the two, and losing it may mean missing out on a postseason berth.
