Captain for four of his seven seasons as a Maple Leaf, Vaive has 441 career goals and was the first Maple Leaf to score 50 goals in a single season, which he did three times as a Leaf. The 55-year-old is now a host on Leafs TV and his son Justin was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

Captain from 1991 to 1994, the Maple Leafs drafted him with the first overall pick in the 1985 entry draft. Clark only played one full season with the team due to injuries, and he scored 46 goals in that 1993-1994 season. He led the team to the playoffs in two of his three seasons as captain, and is known as one of the sport's most notorious fighters.

A Hall-of-Famer, Darryl Sittler played 12 of his 16 seasons with the Maple Leafs and was captain for six seasons. On February 7, 1976, he scored 10 points in one game (six goals and four assists), which stands as an NHL record to this day. His first season as captain saw him become the first Maple Leaf to rack up 100 points in a season (41 goals, 59 assists). in 2003, his number 27 raised above the Air Canada Center along other Leafs greats.

Sundin was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012 after a career spanning 20 years (18 in the NHL). He leads the Leafs for all-time points and goals scored with 984 and 420 respectively, appeared in the playoffs in 10 of his 18 seasons in the NHL, and was an All-Star every year from 1996 through 2004. He played for Sweden in three Olympic Games and won gold in 2006. A legendary player, he was drafted first overall by Quebec in 1989.
