Alas, here we are in the dog days of summer. Nothing is happening at this point that isn’t baseball-related, so die-hard hockey fans are itching for something to happen (unless you’re a die-hard baseball fan as well).

Well, this isn’t much, but it’s something. Turns out Michael Del Zotto of the Philadelphia Flyers is going to be in the sequel to ‘Goon.’ The sequel, called ‘Goon: Last of the Enforcers,’ is currently being filmed and is scheduled to come out some time in 2016.

If you haven’t seen ‘Goon’ before, you need to. While it may not have been that big in the United States, it did very well in Canada. It’s hilarious, sad, intense and touches on pretty much every possible emotion that can be evoked by a movie.

Here’s proof of Del Zotto making an appearance in the motion picture:

That’s Del Zotto with the film’s star Steve Stiffler…. I mean Seann William Scott and the Dallas Stars‘ Tyler Seguin.

It’s a little funny that Del Zotto and Sequin are making an appearance in a movie all about the tough guy role in hockey considering neither one of them are ever considered the tougher guys on the ice at any given time. Do they play with fire? Certainly. Will they get in people’s faces? Of course. Will they be dominant when it’s time to put of the gloves? Definitely not.

Nonetheless, it’s pretty cool that they’ll be in the movie. At the point of the year where there’s nothing going on in the hockey universe, this is a borderline big deal.

Or maybe not. I don’t know.

Bring on training camp!
