The NHL has two of the best players currently in the game, Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) and Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres). The two of them were taken with the first two selections of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. McDavid has nine points in nine games for the Oilers, and Eichel has three goals in eight games with the Sabres. The spotlight is clearly on the duo, but there are two other players deserving of recognition in Arizona Coyotes forwards Max Domi and Anthony Duclair. Both players look like gems and are no slouches themselves.

Forward Domi was taken No. 12 overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by Arizona. He has nine points in eight games at the age of 20 and is the son of former NHL enforcer Tie Domi, who played for 16 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets (now Arizona Coyotes), New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Typically known as a tough guy, he was recognized more for beating people up as he had 3,515 career regular season penalty minutes to go along with 238 career playoff penalty minutes. In his career, he had a combined 264 points and, whenever he did find the ability to put the puck in the back of the net, it was met with laughter because he rarely scored. His son, Max, already has nine points to his name as a professional hockey player and his career is just beginnig. He is believed to be the complete opposite type of player to his father.

Duclair was in the same draft class as Domi, but taken No. 80 overall by the Rangers. A trade to the Coyotes has proven to be successful for Duclair, as well as the organization, as he has seven points in eight games.

The Coyotes have really started off well this season, as they are tied for third place in the Pacific Division with the Vancouver Canucks at nine points. This week they have road games against the Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins before heading home to play against the Canucks, and they could very well end the month of October with a winning record.

While there are constant discussions of relocating this franchise, things are finally looking up for the hockey team and a solid foundation has been built.
