It's no secret that the Arizona Coyotes are in for a complete rebuild. As it goes, they have plenty of players they could separate from and in doing so acquire either draft picks or prospects to complement their young skilled players who will carry them into a new era.

How John Scott still has a roster spot in the NHL is completely beyond me. If you were extremely bored you might wonder over to Youtube and search John Scott. Unfortunately, you won’t find any spectacular highlights but instead see a collection of lowlights and dirty hits that would make Bill Cosby cry foul.

A few years ago Mike Smith was considered an elite goaltender. He was a big reason why the Phoenix Coyotes made it to the Western Conference Finals in 2012. Smith has been on a downward spiral since that time culminating with 14-42 win-loss record during the 2014-15 season.

Zbynek Michael could be a great extra defenseman for a team heading into the Stanley Cup playoffs. He has plenty of experience both in the regular season and postseason. Teams will always be lining up to add an extra defensemen with the veteran savvy of a guy like Michalek.

This may be entirely up to Antoine Vermette, as he could find himself in a similar situation to last season. If he has the desire to go on a postseason run, the ‘Yotes may move him to a contender in exchange for picks or prospects. Vermette played a big role for the Blackhawks last season as a rental, and he could no doubt repeat that again this season.

Mikkel Boedker probably has the most value of anyone on the Coyotes who more than likely won’t be returning next season. He has tremendous offensive ability, and at the age of 25, he is just entering the prime of his career. A UFA at the end of this season, the Coyotes would be wise to move him before or at the trade deadline and at least get some return on their investment.
