The St. Louis Blues have many talented players. For several reasons -- whether it be lack of media attention or simply players having better years -- those players will likely not win postseason awards despite their skills. Here are five guys who will deserve to win awards but likely won't

The Calder Memorial Trophy goes to the most outstanding rookie in the league. Colton Parayko is more than deserving. He is fast, strong, big and smart. Though a Aaron Ekblad won last year, defenseman are not usually popular picks. Parayko is currently tied in points with phenom Jack Eichel, but there are several forwards who will probably stand out more in voters' eyes.

4. David Backes: Selke Trophy

David Backes is a big, strong and aggressive forward. All of those attributes make him a contender for the Selke Trophy (best defensive forward). Unfortunately for Backes, his downfalls are of his own making. While he is a good leader, he disappears for stretches and is guilty of the very things he tells the media the team must improve on. If Backes could ever get his game together for long stretches, he would be more likely to win this award.

3. Kevin Shattenkirk: Norris Memorial Trophy

The race for the Norris Trophy (best defenseman) is wide open since the retirement of Nicklas Lidstrom. Kevin Shattenkirk was a front-runner last season before injury, but he was never quite the same player afterward. Though Shattenkirk has been as good as advertised, his time out with injury this year may once again cost "ShatDueces" awards consideration.

2. Jake Allen: Vezina Trophy

Jake Allen may be the most and yet least likely to win. Allen is currently top five in wins, top 10 in goals against and save percentage and tied for the most shutouts in the league. He has been the Blues' best player outside of Vladimir Tarasenko as well. However, the Blues' defensive lapses and the fact that only three goaltenders have won from the Western Conference in 25 years won't help out Jake the Snake, though.

From a national perspective, Vladimir Tarasenko is the most obvious choice due to him being one of the best players in the league, let alone on the St. Louis Blues. Tarasenko has the skills and sniping ability to lead the league in goals and points, but his unselfishness will likely cost him in the end. Much like Brett Hull before him, he looks to set up teammates as much as shoot, but a lack of scoring outside of Tarasenko will be a hindrance.
