The NHL has been in a weird place so far this season. The Florida Panthers are leading the Atlantic Division, and some teams thought to be favorites are out of the race. In fact, three of the four division leaders did not make the playoffs last season. These five teams here, though, are on the opposite side of the spectrum, and are not living up to their preseason billing.

The Winnipeg Jets came into this season with a ton of momentum. They came off their first playoff performance since moving back from Atlanta. Their fanbase was ready for the future and being a contender. That did not last long, and now they have to decide on impending free agents Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were the top team in the power rankings to start the season. They were the favorites to win it all. They brought almost every single player back from last year's team that was two wins away from a championship. This year, they can't even claim a playoff spot.

How can a team that has Ryan Getlaf and Corey Perry be the worst scoring team in the league? How can the team with the most points in the Western Conference last season be the worst in the conference this season? There are a ton of questions with this team, but it will take a while to answer them. All we know now is this Ducks team is much better than they've been.
