By Anthony Blake

There comes a time in every great career where the writing is on the wall and the end is clearly near.

New Jersey Devils lifer Patrik Elias realized that now is his time, and he announced as much in a video interview with Ken Daneyko.

His NHL career has spanned decades after being selected by the Devils in the second round of the 1994 NHL Draft.

And with a resume that covered 1,240 regular season games, including being the Devils’ all-time leader in goals (408), assists (617), and points (1,025), #PattysLastLap is a hashtag worth celebrating.
