Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski Returns To Game After Taking Puck To The Face Like It's No Big Deal

By Timothy Downs

On Sunday, Columbus Blue Jackets defender Zach Werenski was left bloodied by an errant puck to the face during Columbus’ Game 3 showdown with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

But in yet another example of NHL players being hardcore lunatics, Werenski, 19, got stitched up and returned to action.

Werenski shared a picture of his face following the game via Twitter, and it was nothing short of horrifying.

Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella praised the youngster during his postgame press conference, and explained why he wasn’t able to see any ice time in overtime.

He has balls as big as the building.

It’s hard to argue with that…
