Alexander Ovechkin Blisters Slapshot Past Frederik Andersen as Capitals Tie Series vs. Leafs

This series has been much closer than the typical 1-8 matchup in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the Washington Capitals started looking more like themselves in Game 4.

In particular, “The Great Eight” Alexander Ovechkin brought his best in this one, and his rocket slapper to beat Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen was example A.

The Ovi one-timer is simply unstoppable. #StanleyCup

This shot may have been faster than those from the NHL All-Star Game competitions given just how blistered it looked even in slow motion.

These teams have split both games on one another’s ice thus far, so it doesn’t seem like the margin for error will be very large as this series hits the home stretch.
